Settignano-Firenze bike experience is pleasent and relaxing, ideal for occasional bikers and children. Settignano, tiny village placed on the hill north of Firenze, is our meeting and starting point. After trying the bikes we go downhill in a beautiful road leading to the Ponte a Mensola with the white church of San Martino by the stream Mensola. Now we immediately reach the pretty new Mensola Park, a favolous green area east of Firenze, and then in a low tarfic area to the bike lane of the Arno River.
Following the river on the right bank towards the city centre, we’re going to the other side and uphill to Michelangelo Square keeping the cycle path under our wheels. Stop to relax and drink in a splendid context with thw bronze of David in the sqaure and the Countryside with the monuments of Firenze in front of us.
The last section is the downhill through the road called “Le Rampe”, flanked by little terraces of flowers and thw new waterfall, with views of the city, up to the Signoria Square and Palazzo Vecchio the townhall, the end of our experience.
