The Oltrarno Walking tour and Brancacci Chapel: Meet your guide at 9h30 in one of the most beautiful squares of Florence: Piazza Pitti, in front of the Magnificent Pitti Palace, the heart of the “Oltrarno” area.
Oltrarno is one of the historical quarter of Florence, the name literally means “beyond the Arno”. Situated on the south bank of the Arno River, the Oltrarno has preserved until today a truly Florentine atmosphere: an amazing mix of art and artisans, squares which are not only empty spaces but places where people meet and live together: shops, unique workshops, cafes and restaurants, world-famous and lesser-known museums and monuments – and a way of life you cannot find in other quarters of Florence.
Our walking tour includes the Piazza Pitti and Pitti Palace facade, Santo Spirito church and the visit of the Amazing Brancacci chapel: where the master Masolino and the young Masaccio painted revolutionary frescoes that are among the most famous and influential of the Renaissance.
A 2h30 visit, perfect for families with little children and anyone who wants to discover “something different” about Florence, with a friendly and knowledgeable guide, far from the beaten tracks.
